I spent years with a cluttered car interior until I learned this simple trick:

To keep your car free from trash:  Clean it out really well one time to start.  Block out a half hour or so to do this.  After that clean out the small amounts of trash that accumulate–every time you get gas.  You can empty out the trash while the gas is pumping.   It takes about 30 seconds a week, and it’ll stay clean.

What does keeping your car clean have to do with prayer?

When you pray, seek God first for forgiveness and accept his cleansing.   Get other people to pray with you about these and ask you each week how you are doing.

Then continue to confess any known sins to God each day and ask forgiveness.

8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. (I John 1:8-10)
